Meet Nohemi

Nohemi has spent several years living in Cartagena, walking its streets, beaches and islands almost daily. She isn't a guide who passed through on her way somewhere else: she chose to build her life here, in the Corralito de Piedra, and she knows the city the way you know your own home.

Before creating Dunas & Olas, Nohemi worked at several tourism agencies in the city. Those years taught her something you can't learn in a course: she saw firsthand how this industry really works behind the scenes, and — most importantly — she was able to identify the number one problem faced by tourists visiting Cartagena: arriving with no one trustworthy to guide them, and ending up overpaying, exchanging money at unfair rates, or experiencing a "generic" version of the city that has nothing to do with what they actually came looking for.

There's something else that makes this project deeply personal: Nohemi is neurodivergent, on the autism spectrum, and she loves having systems planned for everything. Itineraries detailed down to the minute, checklists so nothing is left to chance, clear processes for every experience, every transfer, every booking. What others might see as "too much organization" is, for her, simply the natural way to take care of people — and it's exactly that structured, observant and meticulous outlook that makes every trip she organizes go smoothly, without unpleasant surprises.

That's why this project has her whole heart in it: it's not just a business, it's the way Nohemi channels what she loves most — order, detail, genuine care for people — into creating, for every visitor who comes to Cartagena, the most unforgettable experience possible.
